Potato import taxes have been hiked by Rs. 10 per kilogramme, says to the Ministry of Finance. A kilogramme of big onions now carries a special import tax of Rs. 20, in the meanwhile.

The government has accordingly taken steps to increase the import taxes on potatoes from Rs. 50 to Rs. 60, an increase of Rs. 10, and big onions from Rs. 10 to Rs. 30, an increase of Rs. 20.
