In a release, the Sri Lankan Election Commission listed the number of candidates in a nomination paper for the general election of 2024, as well as the number of Members of Parliament (MPs) to be elected from each electoral district.
With 19 candidates for the Gampaha District, the maximum number of MPs will be chosen from there.

The Election Commission has also disclosed details about the number of candidates that political parties or independent groups must propose for each district, as well as the deposits that independent groups must make, in a statement pertaining to the 2024 parliamentary elections.
It also contains details regarding the number of candidates to be elected by a nomination paper, the number of members to be elected for the specific electoral district, and the amount of security deposit to be placed by an independent group.
