97% of the official polling cards for the 2024 presidential election have reportedly already been distributed, according to the Postal Department.
According to Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe, formal voting card distribution finished on September 14 after starting on September 3.
“Postal Department: 97% of voting cards were distributed.”
But he said that after September 18 voters can visit their local post office with their National Identity Card (NIC) to get their polling card and have their identity verified if they haven’t gotten their official voting cards yet.
According to him, voters will have this chance up to September 21, when the presidential election will take place.
