Irish broadcaster RTÉ has stated that a significant international drug trafficking route has been destroyed by Gardaí (Irish police).
The station said that five persons had been taken into custody after around 100 kg of cocaine valued at over €6 million was found in Wexford.
There have been reports that an organised crime gang located in west Dublin was involved in the narcotics trafficking.
It is believed that the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau is in charge of the operation.

On last Monday night, Irish police searched a farmhouse located in County Wexford.

“The Family” is an organised criminal ring in west Dublin that gardaí have been targeting, according to RTÉ’s crime correspondent Paul Reynolds, on BBC Radio Ulster’s Evening Extra programme.
“They think a number of crime gangs have clubbed together to buy substantial amounts of drugs,” he said on the program.
The actions of the gang, particularly with regard to articulated vehicles, were observed by the Gardaí, who conducted a search of the farmhouse in County Wexford.
“Also present was a van that gardaí believe cocaine was being transferred to from the truck for onwards distribution,” he stated.
Reynolds added that “a substantial amount of cash was recovered by Gardaí during a series of searches last night in Wexford and Dublin.”
