On the third day of the third test at The Oval on Sunday, Sri Lanka was bowled for 263 in response to England’s first-innings 325, a deficit of 62 runs.

After a century stand between both Kamindu Mendis and Sri Lankan skipper Dhananjaya de Silva, who both reached 50, lifted the innings from a 93-5 deficit, the tourists resumed on 211-5.

However, they conceded 52 runs in 16.2 overs before noon on Sunday after losing their final five wickets.

De Silva (69) and Mendis (64), with better overhead conditions on Sunday allowing England to use their fast bowlers without worrying about the umpires stopping play due to poor light, fell consecutively.

Olly Stone, an England fast bowler, took 3-35 in nine overs, while Josh Hull, a left-arm quick rookie, got 3-53 in eleven.

In the third test against England, Sri Lanka were 263 all out.

In this three-match series, England has already won two of the matches.

England is attempting to complete a home test clean sweep for the first time since 2004, when Michael Vaughan supervised seven straight victories. England defeated the West Indies 3-0 earlier this season.
