Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa, a presidential candidate for the Samagi Jana Balawegaya-led alliance, believes that strengthening Sri Lanka’s economy should be achieved through the application of a data-centric scientific approach.
He underlined how crucial it is to figure out how each district and regional level contributes to the GDP of the nation.During a meeting in Anuradhapura with experts and the business community, Premadasa emphasised the differences in the nation’s economy.
“Sajith advocates for a scientific approach based on data to strengthen Sri Lanka’s economy.”
The nation’s economy is mainly divided. The SJB presidential candidate declared, “There is a wide gap between the rich and the poor.”He went on to say that while some provinces are doing well economically, others are still far behind.
“Aside from the Western Province, we can be pleased with the contribution made by other provinces to the economic growth when we look at the numbers. Sajith Premadasa stated that in order to revive the nation’s economy, a leader must promptly direct the measurement of each district’s economic output and apply the results to the GDP of the nation.Additionally, he said that the data should be further refined at the Divisional Secretariat level. If the computations are carried out correctly and precisely, the resources, issues, and shortcomings of those areas can be determined, and those details can then be utilised to apply a data-centric scientific plan.
Premadasa said, “Let’s honestly think in a new way and go on a new journey.”
