The head of the Election Commission, R.M.A.L. Ratnayake, declared yesterday that observers from seven countries have been invited to participate in the 2024 presidential election. Their arrival in the countrie is slated for September 18.

These delegates, according to Ratnayake, included representatives from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Nepal, and the Maldives. To supervise the nationwide poll, observers from the Asian Election Observation Network and the Commonwealth will also be travelling.

Seven countries’ representatives have been formally invited to observe the poll.

The head of the EC stated that foreign observers would keep an eye on every facet of the election, including voting, and would submit a thorough report at the end of the polls.
