In Colombo, President Ranil Wickremesinghe officially unveiled his manifesto for the 2024 presidential contest.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe arrived at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo yesterday morning (29), marking the start of the ceremonial event to unveil the manifesto titled “Five Years of Winning the Country with Ranil.”
“Theravada Trade Economy,” “Operation – Beyond 2025,” “Make a Radiant Society,” “Win the Motherland,” and “Unite Sri Lanka” are the five main sections of this document.

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, Ministers Ali Sabry, Bandula Gunawardena, and Nimal Siripala de Silva, as well as other ministers, lawmakers, political leaders who back the President, and religious leaders, also attend the ceremony. The President stated this morning on his official social media accounts: “Today, I lay out my manifesto to rebuild our country.” I will only pledge what I can deliver, and over the next five years, I will give our country my all. The next five years will see Sri Lanka triumphantly rebuilding under my leadership.”
During the ceremony today, the website www.ranil2024.lk was launched, showcasing President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s manifesto as an independent candidate in the upcoming presidential election.
President Wickremesinghe lays out the five-year plan’s top priorities in his policy statement, which includes lowering living expenses, generating employment, lowering taxes, fostering economic expansion, and putting the “Aswesuma” and “Urumaya” programs into action. First, the job market will be expanded with the creation of 100,000 new employment sources. The manifesto also stated that new avenues for generating income will be created.
