On Thursday, August 29, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is set to unveil their manifesto for the presidential election.

The policy statement is now complete, according to SJB Senior Vice President Sujeewa Senasinghe.

Sajith Premadasa, the Leader of the Opposition and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) presidential candidate, stressed that an SJB government will carry out the policy of maximum power devolution within a single nation.

Premadasa presented his vision for governance at a rally in Trincomalee, which included organising an international donor conference with the goal of promoting development in the North and East.

SJB will unveil its election manifesto this Thursday.

The opposition leader declared, “We will hold an international donor conference that will help develop the Northern and Eastern regions.””We will make the implementation of that devolution of maximum power our policy at the same time, especially through the devolution of power within one state and giving the power to the people,” he declared.Additionally, he pledged to put an end to the practice of the federal government taking on authority that provincial councils have been given without cause.

In order to secure development in the North and East, Premadasa further promised that the SJB will hold provincial council elections soon after winning the presidential race. He also promised to improve the effectiveness of the provincial council system.
