Elections Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake issued a warning to voters not to be influenced by the numerous polls that were done in the run-up to the presidential election. Based on the findings of such surveys, he said, the public should not make decisions.

Several phoney surveys had been making the rounds on social media, Ratnayake added. He made a strong case for voters to base their choices on reliable information.
