In an effort to reduce reliance on crude oil, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena has stated that the government is willing to accept foreign investment and that it plans to raise the proportion of alternative energy sources.

He made this point during a recent meeting at Temple Trees in Colombo with Tong-Jo Mun, a well-known businessman from the People’s Republic of South Korea.

According to Tong-Jo Mun, the International Interchange Development Associations (IIDA) are prepared to contribute to a number of solar energy initiatives in addition to fruit cultivation in Sri Lanka intended for export to Korea and other nations.Mun and the prime minister also talked about potential investments in the fields of construction, health care, and fisheries—particularly in the area of new technology to boost output in these fields.
