Though efforts to locate his daughter are still ongoing, the body of British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch has been recovered from the wreck of a yacht that sank off the coast of Sicily early on Monday.

Following the sinking of the opulent yacht Bayesian, which occurred during an unusual storm off the coast of Porticello, a fishing village east of Palermo, six bodies have been brought to shore.

Hannah Lynch, the 18-year-old daughter of Mr. Lynch, is the only person who has not returned home.

UK tech tycoon’s body has been recovered, but his daughter has not.

Fifteen individuals, including Mr. Lynch’s spouse Angela Bacares and a one-year-old child, survived the sinking out of the twenty-two passengers and crew members on board. The Bayesian sank, taking with it technology magnate Mike Lynch, his daughter Hannah, chairman of Morgan Stanley International bank Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy Bloomer, Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo, his wife Neda Morvillo, and the boat’s chef Recaldo Thomas.

All of the missing people’s bodies have now been brought to shore, with the exception of Hannah Lynch, who is believed to be the last person missing, according to a family-friendly source.

Officials are not permitted to disclose the names of the deceased until formal identification has occurred, as per Italian law.According to an Italian Coastguard spokesman, raising the sunken yacht off the bottom is “not on the agenda,” but it is something that will be decided upon in the future. The Italian Coastguard’s working theory, according to Vincenzo Zagarola, is still that the missing woman is somewhere inside the boat, as reported by the PA news agency. At a depth of 50 meters (164 feet), the wreck of the Bayesian is located on the ocean floor.

The operation has been characterised by rescuers as “complex.”
