He claimed that the Samagi Jana Balwegaya (SJB) had the best team to lead the nation out of its current economic crisis while speaking at an event called the “National Visionary Summit.”

Premadasa declared, “We also reject extreme forms of socialism,” and shortly after his election as president, the SJB would take action to combat corruption.
