Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Ratnapura District MP Thalatha Athukorala has notified the legislature of her intention to step down from her role as a member.
She revealed this today, November 21, during a statement she gave in Parliament.

2004 saw the parliamentary debut of Thalatha Athukorala, the sister of the late Gamini Athukorala, a politician for the United National Party (UNP).
In the general elections that followed in 2010, 2015, and 2020, she was re-elected from the Ratnapura District.
She received 45,105 votes from the Ratnapura District to win a seat in Parliament as a member of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) in the general election of 2020.
