Three million foreign visitors are anticipated by Sri Lankan tourism authorities in 2025, according to Managing Director Nalin Perera of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.

According to Perera on last Friday, the Sri Lankan tourism authorities will begin a promotional campaign covering important source markets in the second week of September.

According to Perera, the campaign will target China, Britain, France, Germany, and India in its first phase and Russia, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Poland, Italy, Scandinavia, the Middle East, and the Benelux countries in its second phase.

Sri Lanka plans a new worldwide campaign aimed at three million tourists by 2025.

Next year, it is anticipated that these campaigns will bring in an additional 700,000 tourists.

By August 12, more than 1.2 million tourists had reached Sri Lanka, according to Perera, and an additional 1.1 million are anticipated to arrive in the upcoming months, especially from October to December. In 2024, Sri Lanka anticipates drawing 2.3 million tourists.

One of Sri Lanka’s main sources of foreign income is tourism. In the first seven months of 2024, tourism brought in over 1.88 billion US dollars for Sri Lanka, up 73.3 percent year over year, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s most recent weekly report.
