Based on data from the Navy, the Wennappuwa Police detained a citizen of Sri Lanka who was trying to sneak off the coast of Thal Deka, Wennappuwa, from an Indian fishing boat. It has come to light that the suspect was once detained for drug trafficking in India in 2021.
“A Sri Lankan was detained after boarding an Indian fishing vessel.”
The suspect and the Indian fishing boat are the subject of additional investigations by the Wennappuwa Police, who will also take legal action.
