At least 14 people were killed and 43 injured when a Russian missile struck a supermarket in the Ukrainian town of Kostiantynivka in the front-line Donetsk region on Friday, according to Ukrainian officials.
Photos and videos uploaded by authorities showed thick clouds of black smoke rising from the demolished structure. The fire was extinguished, according to the interior minister later.Terrorists from Russia attacked a typical supermarket and a post office. Thousands of civilians have been killed by Russia in the 29 months since it began its full-scale invasion, a claim it disputes.
Vadym Filashkin, the regional governor of Ukraine, first claimed that Russia used artillery, but later claimed that it used an air-to-surface missile, the Kh-38.The largest private postal company in Ukraine, Nova Poshta, reported that the strike had damaged its cargo office located within the supermarket.Every one of our workers is still alive. The company reported on X that one of its coworkers had suffered a concussion and was receiving all the required care.As per the interior minister’s post on Telegram, the attack caused damage to over a dozen cars, residential houses, and shops.
As Russia targets areas towards the vital eastern logistics hub of Pokrovsk, the Donetsk region is one of the hotspots for fighting.
