Janak De Silva and Kumuduni Wickremasinghe, two judges of the Supreme Court, withdrew from hearing a contempt of court case brought against former State Minister Diana Gamage of the SJB on Wednesday, the 26th.

Rehan Jayawickrema, the former chairman of the Weligama Urban Council, filed the petition, which claims that Gamage insulted the dignity of the supreme court by saying certain things at a press conference following her removal from Parliament.
A three-judge Supreme Court bench made up of Justices Preethi Padman Surasena, Kumuduni Wickremasinghe, and Janak De Silva heard the petition.On August 5, the petition will be considered.
