On Sunday night (23), two people were apprehended by Anamaduwa Police with a phoney gemstone that they were attempting to sell to a businessman for Rs 10 million.
Based on information obtained from the businessman, the raid was executed. The suspects, who live in Paramakanda in Anamaduwa, are 34 and 38 years old.

The suspects had criminal histories, according to the police.
They were trying to get money from the businessman when they were arrested at Thenankuriyawa, which is on the Nawagaththegama road. According to police, the suspects would appear before the Anamaduwa Magistrate’s Court.
